All for One: The Technique of Instinct

As actors with an interest in maximizing both our opportunities for employment and expression one of our inevitable tendencies is to assume that there is one way to audition, one process for character development, one method for connection with our scene partners. This scene study class is based on the principle that an integration of multiple methods can successfully intertwine when the actor commits to the essential understanding that they are enough. The hands on goal with specific one-on-one work between teacher and student will be to identify blocks and unburden instinct for the purpose of ensuring consistent security in one’s craft.
Weekly thematic focus around Cold Reading, Improvisation, Viewpoints, Shurtleff and Meisner techniques will be featured along with challenging scene material in the Red Orchid aesthetic for each student and partner.

Dates: 6 weeks, 1st class Tuesday November 10 thereafter Mondays 11/23- 12/14
Time: 7:00 pm -10:00pm
Location: A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 N. Wells St.
