Do you have a piece that you want to put on its feet, but haven't booked a rehearsal space yet? Prepping for monologues and the audition you have been waiting for is right around the corner? If you had a place to work, would you become a coach, teaching artist, or offer a workshop?

We have a space where YOUR art CAN happen!
Our wood sprung second level floor with 26’x30’ useable space, has cabinets and shelves for props storage, 65 folding chairs, available tables, a microwave, small refrigerator, and coffee pot available. A freight elevator, bathrooms, and large sink are down the hall for your use.

Collaboraction Studios, in the Flat Iron Arts Building of Wicker Park, has affordable, flexible production space to rent in The Pentagon between February 6 and April 2, 2017. Directing & Scene Study

For any aspiring director or for actors looking to inject their craft with fresh looks at scene study. This workshop will refocus the storytelling and staging styles of classic and unique scenes into the ATL standard of relatable and audience first theatre. Consider this scene study for the director with the hope of identifying future directors for our company.
 Class session will end with a free showcase for friends & family.

Rehearsal Space Availability at Steep Theatre

Our rehearsal hall is located at 1113 W Berwyn Ave, directly next door to Steep Theatre. We are happy to make this space available for classes, rehearsals, workshops, meetings, and other projects. This versatile space is 624 square feet, half carpeted and half hardwood, with high ceilings, full heating and air conditioning, wifi, and a separate door for easy access at any time of day.

Rates
Hourly: $15 (standard), $10 (not-for-profit)
Weekly: $450 (standard), $300 (not-for-profit)

Theater on the Lake in the Works: Call for Submissions

Entering its 65th season, Theater on the Lake programming is expanding to include a brand new initiative—a new play commission. For decades this festival has successfully showcased Chicago’s finest off-Loop theater. In order to better support and nurture Chicago’s thriving theater community, this festival will now also include the development of one new play each season.

In partnership with Chicago Dramatists and supported by Artistic Curator Isaac Gomez, the recipient of this new play commission will receive the following support:

A small stipend;
Four seasonal public readings held in Chicago Park District locations throughout the city, kicking off in August 2017. These readings will be fully cast and moderated by established literary managers and dramaturgs in Chicago;
Consultation with literary managers and local dramaturgs throughout the development process;
Fully supported main stage production as part of Theater on the Lake’s 2018 season.

At this time the Chicago Park District’s Theater on the Lake is accepting submissions. Please submit the following in PDF or Word formats:
A full-length, never-before-produced play as a draft (no musicals, please);
A statement (approximately 500 words) explaining why you are interested in collaborating with Theater on the Lake to continue developing this play as the commission;
A professional resume outlining your playwriting and other related experience.
(Please Note: Synopses and 10-page work samples will NOT be considered.)
