The Chicago Park District’s Call for Proposals for the 2019 Night Out in the Parks season is now LIVE! Click here to submit your 2019 NOITP Project proposal by December 14, 2018.
As you may know, in 2013, the Chicago Park District, with support from Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the City of Chicago and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, launched a series of cultural events and programs in over 230 parks citywide. Over the past six years, Night Out in the Parks has grown and expanded to over 1,200 cultural events in neighborhood parks across Chicago. Projects vary from music, dance and theater performances to community workshops, nature-based programs, site specific projects, festivals, and more.
Each year, we invite Chicago based artists and organizations to submit their best ideas for the Night Out in the Parks free public citywide event initiative. This year, in collaboration with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and the League of Chicago Theatres, we’ll place a special focus on theater projects, as 2019 is the Year of Chicago Theatre! In celebration of this initiative we’re committed to producing theater in every corner of the city, all 77 community areas and all 50 wards! We define theater inclusively to not only include plays and musicals but also devised, experimental and interdisciplinary performance such as puppetry, circus, dance and opera.
We look forward to hearing from you and encourage you to also spread the word and share this opportunity with other qualified local artists and organizations you feel might be a good fit for this program. http://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/events/night-out-in-the-parks/
