Artists With Audiences Responding to Dance Returns to The Dance Center!
JULY 28- 31, 2010 * 8:00 P.M.
12 DANCE ARTISTS / 4 NIGHTS / 1 $10,000 WINNER : YOU BE THE JUDGE!
12 promising contemporary choreographers, showcasing 12-15 minutes of a work (complete, excerpt or work-in-progress), will compete over three nights (July 28, 29 & 30, 2010) for a chance to win $1000 and compete again on the final night, Saturday, July 31, 2010, for the $10,000 cash reward. The audience, along with a panel of experts, will vote to select the winner of each the preliminary evenings as well as the final night. The reward money is to be used toward the creation of new dance work.

TO APPLY: The A.W.A.R.D. Show! 2010–2011 aims to create a lab-like space where artists can experiment with ideas in front of a thinking, responsive community. A national panel of experts in the field will review applications and select the 12 artists/companies participants. The panelists will be looking for choreographers who have the potential to create inspirational and innovative work. Applications are due Tuesday, May 11, 2010 by 5:30 P.M. (EST).
