Are you interested in advocating for theatre partners and theatre instructors in CPS? Are you hoping to make connections with schools interested in bringing theatre programming to their students?
Ingenuity's Theatre Summit will explore how schools, teachers and community partners come together to identify and fill the most pressing theatre needs in each school. Participate in a collaborative workshop series that utilizes Ingenuity’s Creative Schools data to explore school needs and theatre gaps. Participants will review data in each area of the city as a springboard to strategically plan partnerships that meet school needs. The Institute Summit has four goals to support arts educators’ work in schools:
• help identify the strengths and gaps in services for individual CPS schools and their geographic area
• share the gap analysis with invested stakeholders, and facilitate discussion between schools and theatre partners on how to fill programming gaps
• highlight, through program demonstrations, current best practices between CPS schools and theatre partners
• explore the elements of designing and implementing an exceptional theatre education programs from concept to assessment
Part I of the Theatre Summit is designed exclusively for theatre arts partners working within CPS.
Part II of the Theatre Summit will match theatre arts partners with CPS administrators, principals, teachers, and arts liaisons seeking to increase, enhance, and enrich their theatre offerings.

Register for the Arts & Education Exchange Summit
The Arts & Education Exchange Summit 2012 is a new event to connect educators with Chicago's arts providers. The Summit will take place on Saturday, February 4th at the Chicago Cultural Center from 10am-2pm.The Arts & Education Exchange Summit is a one-stop resource expo to help educators enhance their instruction in the arts and other subjects. Educators are invited to meet with over 50 representatives from local arts and cultural organizations and to attend workshops led by experts in the field on a range of topics from how to build successful partnerships, to fundraising, and tools to assess the impact of partnerships on students. Attendees also have the chance to win free arts programming for their students.

Arts and Education Exchange Summit

Introducing a new event to connect you with Chicago's educators...The Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture, in partnership with the Department of Culture and Special Events, Arts Alliance Illinois, Ingenuity Incorporated, and Chicago Public Schools Office of Arts Education invite you to participate as a vendor in the first annual Arts & Education Exchange Summit!
Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Chicago Cultural Center from 10am-2pm!
The Arts & Education Exchange Summit is a unique opportunity for arts and cultural organizations that offer educational programming to share their services with Chicago's educators. Modeled after Chicago's longest running arts resource fair Spotlight on Chicago, the Summit is an expo-style event where organizations are given a booth to present information about their arts residencies, field trip opportunities, and professional development programs to local teachers, principals, and educational coordinators.
The Arts & Education Exchange Summit is not a booking conference, but rather an information resource expo and a great opportunity to increase visibility, develop contacts, and network with peer organizations. In addition to the expo portion of the event, the Summit also offers professional development workshops that are crafted to give educators the tools they need to effectively partner with you in bringing arts education to every child in Chicago.

CPS Arts Partner Survey Convening
Please join us Wednesday, June 29 OR Thursday, June 30 to discuss the results of the CPS Arts Partner Survey.
The League of Chicago Theatres invites theatre-specific and multi-disciplinary organizations to join us for this next step in our process, whether or not you were able to complete the survey earlier this year.
On Wednesday, June 29 from 10am to 12pm and Thursday, June 30 from 6pm to 8pm at Goodman Theatre (170 N. Dearborn), we will be sharing the results of the survey and asking for your reactions, feedback, and recommendations on where our sector can go from here. You need only attend one of these two sessions; light refreshments will be provided at each.
Please RSVP to Jess Hutchinson (jess@chicagoplays.com) with your name, organization, and the date and time you’ll be joining us; you will receive an e-mail confirming your RSVP. If you have any questions, feel free to send them to Jess as well.
Last winter, the Chicago Community Trust enlisted four institutions to work together and within their different artistic disciplines in creating recommendations for the improvement of arts education experiences of every student in the Chicago Public Schools. The first step in that task was to create and distribute the CPS Arts Partner Survey, designed to help us understand the current depth and breadth of arts partners’ work in CPS.
After working with many of you to create that survey, enlisting your help in spreading the word about it, collecting responses, and analyzing that data, it’s time to share the findings with you, and gather your input as we begin to draft our sector-specific recommendations.
Please Save The Date: TUESDAY, JULY 19th – we’ll again host two sessions at 1pm and 6pm respectively where we’ll present a draft of our final recommendations, informed by your feedback, before submitting them to the Trust.
