Chicago, October 2015
MTS lands in the Windy City! We are excited to announce our first workshop in Chicago, given by Master Teacher Norman Taylor who taught alongside Jacques Lecoq for 20 years.
Widely regarded as one of the finest international ambassadors of Lecoq’s pedagogy, Norman has given master classes in over 30 countries at some of the world's most prestigious theater conservatories, and is currently on the faculty of the École Internationale de Théâtre Lassaad in Brussels.
'The Art of Movement at the Service of the Actor' is an exploration into the inherently physical nature of theater and the dramatic potential of the world around us. It will explore three fundamental components of Jacques Lecoq's approach to artistic training: the analysis of movement, physical storytelling and the actor-as-creator. Working from short stories by Chekhov and Poe, the workshop will culminate in the collective creation of original physical theater pieces.
This workshop offers the actor a unique opportunity to develop a heightened sense of their body in performance with one of the world’s greatest teachers of physical theater.
Workshop dates: October 9th, 10th and 11th, 10am - 5pm
Location: Columbia College
