Linklater Workshop and The Two Pence Lab

Join Two Pence Artistic Director and Designated Linklater Voice Teacher Trainee Tom Wells at The Acting Studio Chicago for this empowering class!

This course is based on Kristin Linklater’s methodology laid out in her book Freeing the Natural Voice. Work will focus on becoming aware of personal physical/psychological blocks that inhibit the human instrument, and then removing those blocks.

Through group floor and standing work, demonstration and exercises students will begin to establish, register, and free their connection to breath, develop resonance and explore range, learn to release jaw, tongue, and throat tensions and build vocal strength.

Explore, discover, and reveal the depth of your own vibrant human instrument.

Course Runs 6 Sundays, 1-3:30pm beginning September 29th. http://www.actingstudiochicago.com/class/Voice%20_Movement.html

Antique Range Available for Donation

The range is a classic white 4 burner O'Keefe and Merritt 35" Freestanding Range. Has all original knobs (1 is broken but can easily be replaced with parts online) - and worked when house was inspected but we never used it as we chose to refinish the kitchen, so it has been sitting in my garage. Ranges like this one were a staple in 1950's homes – I even saw one just like it at the 50's Prime Time Café at Disneyworld Hollywood Studios last month (It looked just like my grandmothers kitchen – crazy!)

Pictures are available here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/troykoch/sets/72157630113673656/

If interested text or call 708-545-8833 or troykoch@gmail.com.

25 paid opportunities for productions through June 30, 2014

SDCF Observership Application Materials are available online at SDCweb.org.
The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) Observership Program grants emerging Directors and Choreographers 25 paid opportunities to observe the work of master Directors and Choreographers as they create productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway and at leading regional theatres across the country.

Only those who apply to the program have access to these opportunities. See full program guidelines for more information on how the program operates.

SDCF Observers have access to the entire rehearsal process, from first rehearsal through previews to opening night. The exact nature of each Observership varies depending on the needs and desires of the master Director or Choreographer. Observers are guaranteed the invaluable opportunity to observe, first-hand, the techniques, disciplines, approaches and insights of master artists as they create new productions and revive classics.

Each Observer receives a grant of a weekly stipend of $200 and a project travel stipend. In a recent survey of our past three seasons of Observers, 100% recommend the program.

To apply, please visit SDCweb.org for information, application and guidelines. Please see our new frequently asked questions page if you have any questions. Please note that this program is open to all applicants; there is no union affiliation required for this program.
