The Saints, Volunteers for the Performing Arts, have announced that they are awarding more than $52,000 in grants to 16 performing arts groups in the Chicago metropolitan area for 2018. The grants were awarded to dance, music and theater organizations for 2018-19 projects. Over the last twenty-five years, the Saints have given more than $985,000 to over 250 companies and venues.
The 2018 grants are funding: enhancement of performance space, the crafting of unique costumes & props, translation and subtitles, musical instruments, the purchase of various kinds of technical equipment and more. Awardees, expressing their cultural and ethnic diversity, addressing underrepresented or physically challenged audiences/performers and their dedication to the creative, span the metro Chicago area.
The all-volunteer grant commission evaluated over 125 proposals totaling more than half a million dollars in monetary requests. Funding for the grants comes almost exclusively from the annual dues and donations of the over 2,300 members of The Saints. All donations are welcomed.
The Saints 5th Annual Grant Awards Presentation and Celebration will be held at the Athenaeum on Monday June 18. The doors will open at 6 pm for networking and a cash bar. At 7pm, we will begin the award presentation. The public is cordially invited to attend this free event.

The Saints Award $121,000 to Metro Chicago Performing Arts Companies
The Saints, Volunteers for the Performing Arts, have announced that they are awarding more than $121,000 in grants to 26 performing arts groups in the Chicago metropolitan area for 2017. The grants, ranging in amounts from $900 to $7,500, were awarded to archival, dance, music and theater organizations for 2017-18 projects. Over the last two decades, the Saints have given over $935,000 to nearly 250 companies and venues.
The 2017 grants are funding: archiving performances, the commission of new work, enhancement of performance space, costumes & props, ADA access, and the purchase of various kinds of technical equipment.
