League and Guild Meet and Greet
The League and the Dramatists Guild of America invite theatres to join members of the Dramatists Guild from throughout the Midwest for a Meet and Greet on Sunday, September 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event is designed so that representatives of theatres, such as Artistic Directors and Literary Managers, can have an opportunity to speak with playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists about their mission, the kind of new work they are interested in, what kind of submissions they take, etc. The format will be a “fair” type, with each theatre having a table on which they can display materials. Dramatists will be invited to meet theatre representatives and to speak with them about their work. No submission of scripts will be accepted at the Meet and Greet. The event will be held at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington Street.
The Dramatists Guild of America was established over eighty years ago, and is the only professional association that advances the interests of playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists for the living stage. The Guild has over 6,000 members nationwide. This event will be co-hosted by Deb Clapp (Executive Director of the League) and Douglas Post (Chicago Regional Rep for the Dramatists Guild).
Please R.S.V.P. to Ben Thiem at ben@chicagoplays.com.
